I'm not clear if Caradl was a stencil horn, with it being the name of the ordering company, or if it was a model with sub-models below it. Generally stencil horns don't have the manufacturer's name engraved on the horn, which is why regardless of what the origin of the Caradl name is, these horns would not be considered true stencil saxophones.
Paul Tlapa, the owner of the Caradl Triumph alto, 77XX in this gallery, has come up with an interesting theory about what Caradl refers to. He writes:
"In my eyes ‘Caradl’ is just a wordplay, made of ‘osCARADLer’ ". Musicus Alto Serial # ?, Musicus Tenor 7949, Standard Alto Serial # ?, Standard Tenor 8060, Triumph Alto 77XX |
The Eterna was on the higher end of Oscar Adler's build scale. It was the 9/11 most expensive of their saxophones. Only the Sonora and Triumph models—examples of both available for viewing in this gallery—were more expensive. Alto 5782, Alto Serial # ? |
The Gloria was on the higher end of Oscar Adler's build scale. It was the 8/11 most expensive of their saxophones. Tenor 7217, Tenor Serial # ?, Tenor Serial #: ? |
