Engraving On Bell To Bow Connecting Ring
Engraving On Bell To Bow Connecting Ring |
Description: |
Eb Alto
Manufacturer: Martin
Model: Handcraft Phase 3
Serial #: 108502
Finish: Silver plated with art deco engraving
Source: Randy Cole
This beautiful horn has very unique engraving. As Randy Cole pointed out, this is very unusual engraving for Martin. He said: "It also has a very special bell engraving, which is somewhere between a highly engraved Imperial model, and Conn's 6M transitional, which was this instrument's main competitor of the day."
The sax still has its original pads, which were all conditioned and reseated during the restoration process. The horn really does look new. It's original finish is basically 100%.
The engraved "M203" on the bell band, below the engraving, appears to have been done in the factory, but what it means is a mystery. |
