A Peek Under The Metal Keyguard

A Peek Under The Metal Keyguard
Description: Bb Tenor
Manufacturer: Dörfler & Jörka
Stencil Name: Senator
Serial #: ?
Finish: Silver plated
Source: 4782rolf on

Notice the metal "angel wing" style key guard on this sax. It is reminescent of the J.K. Tonekings & The New Kings that Keilwerth produced for the American market during the 1950s and early 1960s.

Although the seller didn't provide a serial #, this horn is likely in the 7XXX range, just like the other horns with similar key guards.

Dörfler & Jörka produced alto and tenor stencil saxophones for many companies that strongly resembled the J. Keilwerths of the day. However, D&J are not Keilwerth stencil saxophones.
