I had the opportunity to photograph and play this fine looking vintage Pierret after my friend repadded it for a member of his family. It has belonged to his cousin in 1959.
It was purchased in New Westminster, BC for approximately $100.00 Cdn. According to the Bank of Canada's Inflation Calculator, that would be $796.08 in 2012.
It still has all its original accessories, including the unique amber end plug. The only thing that didn't come stock with the horn is the Anacin tin, which is used to hold some kind of cork grease. However, it too is extremely old. When was the last time you saw Anacin with Codeine?
By the looks of it, this instrument spend most of its life in a closet. It is in amazing condition. |
