This is a very interesting horn. This Modele 6 has a very high serial #, and blows one theory about Pierret out of the water: that the company stopped producing the numbered models early in the 20s or 30s.
The horn was the seller's personal sax. He stated that he bought it upon the recommendation of his saxophone instructor.
The seller claimed that this horn is circa. 1962, and is the same as the Super Artiste. This is a claim that can't be verified through these photos alone. There were so many subtle differences between the Super Artiste and models such as the Artiste, the Artiste Competition, and the Modele Competition for example, that you would need much bigger pics to be able to confirm the seller's claim that this Modele 6 is the same as a Super Artiste. |
