Description: Bb Tenor
Manufacturer: Martin
Stencil Name: Dick Stabile
Serial #: 25170
Finish: Lacquer with nickel plated keys
Source: morantime on

This interesting horn still has its original warranty card and an original Dick Stabile mouthpiece.

These Dick Stabile horns are arguably the best Martins ever built—they certainly are among the most sought after. They are however, not very common.

According to the seller of this sax, the Sorkin Music Company, 251 Fourth Avenue, New York City, ("Sorkin" is engraved on the bell & below the thumb hook) was the exclusive wholesale distributors for the Stabile saxophones. The seller claims these horns were ordered from Martin by big band sax player Dick Stabile, during the late 1930s and early 1940s.
