According to Edwin Van Druten from The Martin Story, these Troubadours are really a transitional model. The were primarily a Handcraft with special key work.
These Troubadours only had 2 right palm keys. Although the high E/F is eliminated, the key's function is not. Its job is taken over by side C key. When a player goes past a certain point, a double spring mechanism triggers the side C to act as the high E/F key. |
