Bell & Left Pinkie Cluster
Bell & Left Pinkie Cluster

Bell & Left Pinkie Cluster
Description: Bb Tenor
Manufacturer: VEB Sächsische Musikinstrumentenfabrik
Model: Akustik
Serial #: 1440
Finish: Silver plated
Source: spirollus123 on eBay.de

This interesting Akustik has blue glass key touches, and had it pearls, would be a full pearl model. The shape of the left pinkie cluster alone, gives it away as being a precursor to the Weltklang.

Notice too its elaborate engraving that stretches all the way to the left side of the bow. This is the most elaborately engraved Akustik saxophone that I have seen to date.

This sax has the G#, D/D# trill keys, fork Eb, as well as the rolled tone holes that were all typical of the German saxophones of this era.
