The sax's origins are a mystery, since Boosey & Co. ostensibly did not make saxophones. Furthermore, there are a number of features on this sax which look rather odd, and overall the horn looks overbuilt and clunky. Was it a prototype? Was it really built by Boosey & Co.? It is a real enigma.
