Eb Alto
Manufacturer: Pierret
Stencil Name: René Dumont
Serial #: ?
Finish: Lacquer with nickel plated keys
Source: trollking46 on eBay.com
René Dumont had most of their saxophones made by Dörfler & Jörka. It is quite likely that when D&J ceased operations in 1968, that the company turned to Pierret as the source for their horns.
Overall this sax shares a lot of features with the Parisians and the Parisian Ambassadors that Pierret made for F. E. Olds & Son.
What's interesting about this horn, is that it is the first two-tone Perret-stencilled René Dumont that I have seen. Usually they are just lacquered, not with nickel plated keys. |
