Unfortunately I didn't photograph the sax immediately after I got it back from David at Matterhorn Music. It has been 2 months, and the tarnish is starting to build already—despite the anti-tarnish strips in the case.

To make the tarnish even more obvious, I photographed the horn with bracketed exposures, and then sewed the images together to create HDR images. This creates much clearer, and crisper images than conventional photography.

This finish was not very common. Silver plated horns were most commonly seen in ex-military horns. This however, was not one of them. According to a member of SOTW, silver plate was an option available in the Martin catalogue in the late 1950s.

Yes, this is my personal horn.

As you can see from the photos, despite having been played a lot the horn is in great shape, and not what we commonly see in vintage baritones—many of which have been beaten up, and show signs of major repairs.
