This horn is a real head-scratcher. In addition to it being of unknown age, it has had a couple of mods (possibly the left pinkie cluster), but certainly the octave mechanism.
According to the seller:
"[T]he Octave mechanism on the body has been completely replaced. Whether they did it because the old mechanism was badly damaged or just didn't work well I don't know. They did however do a great job in custom building a modern "Selmer style" teeter octave mechanism. Even hiding the old vent tube hole underneath the upper post." |
