Dörfler & Jörka produced alto and tenor stencil saxophones for many companies that strongly resembled the J. Keilwerths of the day. However, D&J are not Keilwerth stencil saxophones.
This particular saxophone is somewhat of an enigma, in that its serial number is pre-D&J takeover by Keilwerth in the mid 60s. The serial number of this horn dates the horn to circa 1959, according to known Keilwerth serial numbers.
This is pure speculation on my part, but it is possible that Keilwerth contracted D&J to build some saxophones for them when they couldn't fill their orders. (We know that they did this in the 60s, so perhaps they did it in the 50s as well.) This might explain the following Keilwerth features: the neck fastening screw on the neck; the key guards; although the pant guard is missing, there is a very good chance it was made of plastic, which is why it is missing: it got broken.
What the sax doesn't have, which a Keilwerth-made Jubilee stencil does have, is the JK Best In The World logo/stamping just above the serial number. This is perhaps the clearest indicator that we are looking at a D&J origin horn, rather than a Keilwerth.
