According to the engraving on the bell, this mystery horn was made in Wohlhausen, Vogtland.
Although this horn was missing a couple of parts, I thought it was interesting enough to include in this gallery. The rolled tone holes are indicative of the build-quality of this horn. I don't know if this was a stencil horn, or if it came from one of the smaller cottage industry-type manufacturers that littered the countryside at the time. I suspect it was the latter. |
