Where’d The Month Go?

September just seemed to fly by. The Bassic Sax Jazz Ensemble played every Thursday night at the Yorkshire Rose in Abbotsford. If you haven’t come and heard us yet, give us a try. We’re a little bit of lounge-band, smooth jazz, r&b, and yes, even vintage pop, combined into one tight package.

My original plan of having a quiet, demure background band for functions has evolved. True to my R& B roots, more upbeat swing, and even 50s R&R tunes such as “Tequila”, have made their way into our repitoire. We still have lots of quiet tunes, with great jazz singing by Gary Huntbatch and Karen Durant, but our show is certainly more up-tempo when we want/need it to be.

If you live in Abbotsford, Mission, Chilliwack, or wherever else in the Fraser Valley, and are looking for music that you can recognize, or dance or tap your toe to, you really ought to come out and give us a listen.

Check out our show schedule for upcoming dates and times.

…this is just my blog. My “real” website is www.bassic-sax.info. If you’re looking for sax info, you should check it out too. There’s lots there!
