Ray Myers @ The James Street Café

TicketI had the chance to see my friend and fellow sax player, Ray Myers, perform at a new venue last night. The Ray Myers Band did its first show at the James Street Café in Burnaby. The place was packed, and the dance floor was jumpin’, as Ray kept the hits coming for 4 solid hours.

Ray’s show is a high-energy, R&B dance show, which makes it almost impossible for you to stay in your seat. The music is infectious, and Ray’s arrangements are impeccable. The sound samples, while capturing the musicianship, of course can’t capture the energy of seeing a live show. With Ray, you have to see him, to really get the true picture of what a great showman he really is.

    • I’m sorry I can’t tell you. I just noticed that Ray has let his domain name expire, and that it has been bought by a company in Japan. They’ve put up a BS site in Japanese on his old address.

I haven’t spoken to Ray in a while, so I don’t know what he’s doing nowadays with regards to booking his band. I can drop him an email sometime, and see if he has any updates for me. If he has, I’ll post them as comments here.
