Something Charlie Parker Said

While admittedly not being the biggest Bird fan in the world, I have to admit, he did have a number of quite profound things to offer up when it came time for interviews.

The following is a statement that is attributed to Charlie Parker, that very much resonates with me. Does it do so with you as well?

Music is your own experience, your own thoughts, your wisdom. If you don’t live it, it won’t come out of your horn. They teach you there’s a boundary line to music. But, man, there’s no boundary line to art.

Yes, I’d say he pretty much erased any lines he encountered. The genre was forever changed once Charlie Parker came along.
