Contrabass Saxophone & Piano

I love trolling YouTube, because you never know what you’ll stumble across. Case in point: the following performance by Randy Emerick.

In this video Randy is performing Septieme Solo de Concert, by Jean Baptiste Singelee. The piece was published in 1863 by Adolphe Sax, for baritone saxophone and piano.

Randy is performing the piece on his Eppelsheim low A contrabass saxophone.

I’m currently working on the Eppelsheim section of my website. Here’s a teaser: When I’m finished, there will be some very interesting information available about Benedikt Eppelsheim’s saxophones. Information that has until now, not been available in English.

…this is just my blog. My “real” website is If you’re looking for sax info, you should check it out too. There’s lots there!
