I hope everyone is having a nice long weekend, and is having a Happy Easter. This is the time of year when we are starting to think about the warmer days ahead, and trying to forget the snow. (OK, I admit it. The West Coast really did have a mild, almost snow-free winter this year. I am so grateful for that.)
Here in the Greater Vancouver region, our cherry blossoms are starting to make their appearance, just in time for the annual Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival. So I thought it would only be appropriate to use a cherry blossom wallpaper as a backdrop for today’s Easter greeting.
During my 8½ years in the Maritimes, I very much missed these trees. Unfortunately I don’t have a cherry tree like this in my current yard. My last yard had one and it always made me happy each spring, to see the blossoms opening up.
Spring is my favourite season. As the bulbs open up, and all the spring flowers bloom, we know that winter is finally behind us.
This weekend all the neighbours have been washing down their decks so that they can eat their Easter dinners outside. This is indeed a rare treat here, since the Easter long weekend is usually a rainy one. However, this year the weather is amazingly sunny and a perfect temperature at around 18º C (that’s 64.4º F for my American friends).
No matter where you are, or what you are doing this long weekend, I hope you are having a good one. Perhaps the Easter bass sax bunny found you, and left you an Easter egg or two, or better yet, a reed or two.
