Well there really is no accounting for the power of YouTube. In March I wrote about Sergio, The Sexy Sax Man, who spent his free time running around LA playing intonationally challenged versions of George Michael’s Careless Whisper.
Now The Sexy Sax Man is capitalizing on his YouTube popularity by offering his services for a fee. At least I assume it’s for a fee, although there is no mention of cost on his site.
On The Sexy Sax Man website it says:
Sexy Sax Man is available for birthdays, bar mitzvah, party, corporate dinner, special event, trade show, fundraiser any affair. Your guests or customers will always remember this occasion.
Sending a Sax-a-gram is an interesting idea. I’m sure it’s been done before, just probably not to Careless Whisper, and certainly not with this much popular culture attention attached to it.
It’s almost like Sergio has become some kind of rock star. Very strange. Like I said at the start: there is no accounting for the power of YouTube.
