Another Pop Rock/New Wave Saxophone Solo From the 1980s

As my clock radio woke me up this morning, I awoke to the sounds of a saxophone solo. It was in a song I hadn’t heard in years—likely 10 or more.

It Ain’t Enough became much more than the song’s title. It became my mantra, as I tried to recall enough of the song to remember what it was that I had heard. (I hate mornings.) 👿

In the 1980s, Canadian Corey Hart was a staple on the airwaves both north and south of the border. In August 1984, his first single, Sunglasses at Night, made it all the way to the #7 spot on the Billboard Hot 100

Another hit off his first album, First Offense, also did well in the charts. It Ain’t Enough featured a great deal of saxophone work, and made it to the #17 spot in the Billboard charts.

It appears that the saxophone player for the track was Andy Hamilton.²  This would sense, since the album was recorded in the UK, and Hamilton is a session musician from the UK who is perhaps best known internationally for his work with Duran Duran.
