There is a Hammerschmidt, Klingsor alto sax on eBay at the moment, that looks like it has a very tough life. When the best the seller can do is say…
KLINGSTOR Alto Sax Saxophone ,The Saxophone es Vintige S.N.01614 ,has dints and dings many good for parts parts , The NECK very good condition. Sold as is. Thank you
… you know it can’t be good. But hey, if you’re looking for a neck for that Klingsor alto of yours, then $99 for an opening bid might be a good deal.

The seller didn’t mention the missing key… That’s a big problem. It’s not like you’re likely to find a parts horn. Unfortunately this is what this poor thing most likely has become.

My SOTW friend, Milandro, who has a Klingsor tenor without a neck, certainly wishes this one wasn’t an alto. But alas… We can’t always get what we want. Maybe next time…
The auction for this poor thing runs until March 15th. So far no one has put a bid in.
Update: This horn did actually sell. (Who would have thunk?) There was 1 bidder who shelled out a whopping $99 for this baby.
Maybe the buyer has a G key for a Hammerschmidt, and is missing a horn and neck… Nah… It will most likely end up a parts horn, or adorning someone’s wall. Pity… I wonder… What the f@#* ever happened to that G key anyway? Why would someone take it off to begin with? 😕
Actually, looking at it more closely now, I realize that the G is not the only thing missing. The bis Bb, and front F are gone as well. Makes you wonder what else isn’t there that can’t be seen in the small pics. Oh well, what do you expect for < $100?
