The Juxtaposition Of Vintage Brass

As I was getting ready for a show last week, I took some photos of my tenor. One of these shots was rather interesting, and I decided to turn it into a poster.

I really like the juxtaposition of the brass sax bow with brass lamp base. Both of these items are from the 1950s. My Zephyr is from 1950, while the lamp is from sometime during the same decade.

Much of my studio is full of 1950s accent pieces such as lamps, candle holders, brass sculptures, and floor ash trays. I like the feeling that these pieces add to the the room. They say: Populuxe didn’t die in 1964. It’s still very much alive and well.

…this is just my blog. My “real” website is www.bassic-sax.info. If you’re looking for sax info, you should check it out too. There’s lots there!
