Now here is something I wish would have been available almost 10 years ago: a bass saxophone case that fits vintage American horns. Unfortunately, no one was making replacement cases for vintage bass saxophones at the time.<\/p>\n

You have to remember that in 2000 when I bought my bass, the only new bass saxes in production were made by Selmer, Keilwerth, & Orsi. Cheap, Asian-made bass saxophones\u2014and their accoutrements\u2014were still a few years away.<\/p>\n

International Woodwind, of Hollywood California, is currently selling a really nice bass saxophone case, that will fit vintage American-style bass saxophones.  <\/p>\n

When I bought my bass from Paul Coats, it was before the current bass saxophone renaissance. I was one of the first people who went through the process of having to find a replacement case for their (then) 80 year old sax. <\/p>\n

In the end, I chose to have a custom case built for my baby. I then outlined the process I went through<\/a> on my website, and it has been there ever since. If a case like this would have been available however, I would have bought it in a heartbeat!<\/p>\n
