If you want, you can translate it using you favourite online translation program, but you know it’s not going to be really accurate. I will however, give you all the salient points. Because the ad text is very long, I’ll give you the English text first, and then provide the full German version afterwards.

Here’s what the important points are in English:

This is an extremely rare Kohlert from the 1920s.

It was overhauled by Master Woodwind technician Hans Martin Hoppmann from Cologne.

The horn plays extremely well, especially in the lower register, and has a great deal of volume.

It has been used by professional saxophonists, including the bass saxophone quartet Deep Schrott, who used it in both recordings and radio performances.

The owner is selling it because it is his second bass, and it is hardly ever being used.

Like most vintage basses, it is keyed from low Bb to high Eb.

The owner had woodwind technician Bernhard Schramm from Cologne add a second strap ring, because when using a harness or a neck strap, the horn never quite balanced properly on the original one.

The original strap ring does work quite well with the old stand, which allows you to play the horn while seated. This stand (not pictured) will be included in the sale.

A custom refaced Vandoren baritone mouthpiece is available upon request. This mouthpiece was especially customized for use on a bass saxophone by Tittmann from Hamburg.

The case was custom made for the horn by the Jakob Winter company in Nauheim, and in principle is the kind of case used for J. Keilwerth bass saxophones. It was further fitted with wheels and a telescopic handle. This newer case cost approx. € 700. (Which XE.com estimates to be approximately $959 at the time of writing.)

Therefore the sale includes: the horn, the case, the stand, and the mouthpiece.

You are more than welcome to come and inspect and play test the instrument prior to bidding. Personal pickup is preferred due to the high risk of damage during shipping.

ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder

        Source: eBay.de

The auction for this rare, Kohlert bass saxophone runs until February 5. The Buy It Now price is €4,999.00, which XE.com estimates to be $6,849.20 at the time of writing. Also at the time of writing, there was 1 offer already on this interesting and unusual bass saxophone.

While trolling the German eBay site this morning, I happened across a very rare sight indeed.
