Our version is based on that of the <em>Atlanta Rhythm Section<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Recently I decided that I would try and find the original version of <em>Spooky<\/em>\u2014the instrumental version performed by sax player Mike Sharpe. Well thanks to YouTube I found it quickly and easily.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Classic IV - Spooky\" width=\"1174\" height=\"881\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Qpo9KZYJ4sA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Spooky<\/em> was written by Mike Sharpe and Harry Middlebrooks Jr. It originally charted in 1967 in the US, and hit #57 on the pop charts.\u00b9<\/p>\n<p>Although it is much better known as a <em>Classics IV <\/em>song when lyrics were added in 1968, <em>Spooky <\/em>was originally a saxophone solo.
