Neon signs always look better at night when they’re lit\u2014or so I thought. That was until I saw this daytime photo of the neon saxophone signage for Egan\u2019s Ballard Jam House in Seattle.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Regular blog readers may remember that I featured a\u00a0nighttime photo of Egan’s<\/a> recently.\u00a0Compared to that photo\u00a0that I featured in February 2011, this daytime shot\u00a0shows more\u00a0coloured musical notes, and also a sign in very good repair.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It appears that either the neon sign is new\u2014not so likely\u2014or has recently been refurbished\u2014more likely.<\/p>\n

We’ve all seen neon signs that have been exposed to the elements for a while. They tend to look worn<\/a>, and even rather rusty<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Given that this Egan’s\u00a0sign is in Seattle, a city known for its copious amounts of rain, it’s a given that the owners of this neon sign will have to spend money to refurbish their iconic saxophone more often than if it were hanging in a\u00a0desert climate.<\/p>\n

In any event, this daytime photo of the Egan’s is a wonderful photo of saxophone imagery used to convey\u00a0the message:\u00a0Hey,\u00a0this is a musical venue. Come on in. <\/em><\/p>\n
