This saxophone-shaped blow accordion comes from Czechoslovakia. It is stamped Haro<\/em>. This is the first company that I have found different versions of blow accordions from. The large photo and gallery pics immediately below, are of only an 8 key version. It is lacking the 2 bass keys\/chord keys that some models came with.<\/p>\n

Another seller also had a 10-keyed version for sale a year or so ago. This is how he\/she described this blow accordion:<\/p>\n

It is 18 inches in height, 6 inches in depth and opening is 4 inches in diameter. There are 8 paddles on the right and 2 paddles on the left…The mouth piece is made of smooth wood, is 1 inch and sturdy. In fall 2012 this interesting 8 key Haro appeared on eBay. This is evidence that Disney had some kind of licensing agreement with the Czechoslovakian company to make these sax-shaped toys.<\/em> Sadly this little horn is missing its mouthpiece, and is somewhat dinged up.<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_4_placeholder\n

Another dealer on eBay has had another Mickey Mouse Haro, as well as a Donald Duck version, on the eBay for almost a year now. Both blow accordions are in better condition, but both are just shy of $300\u2014which explains why neither has sold.<\/p>\n

Although rare, these Walt Disney Haro blow accordions are not as rare as one might think. In fall 2013 yet another Mickey Mouse version appeared on eBay, only this one still had its mouthpiece. (And yes, the $300 Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck ones were still available, which means that for over 24 months the seller has still not found a buyer willing shell out that kind of coin.)<\/p>\nngg_shortcode_5_placeholder\n

To my eye, the Haro bares a striking resemblance to the Hohner Saxonette<\/a> from Germany. Even the size is similar to that of the Saxonette<\/a>. One seller measured their Saxonette to be 17 \u00bd” in length, with a bell diameter of 4″.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
