The fork Eb had been soldered shut with a coin. So the shop removed tone hole, and soldered in a piece of brass prior to the re-plating. During the overhaul process the shop also added a few things they felt would make future repairs on the horn easier.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>A custom heavy duty body to bell brace was added to allow it to be taken apart&nbsp;in the&nbsp;future, if needed, for&nbsp;dent work or repairs.<\/li>\n<li>The lower bow ring was fit together by retention screws, and then silicone sealed, with the intention that&nbsp;it can also be split apart for future repairs.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 10px;\">&nbsp; Source: eBay.com<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 22px;\">Buescher True Tone<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Serial #: 42151&nbsp; Circa 1918<\/span><\/h4>\n<h4><span style=\"font-size: 18px;\">Finish: Silver plated<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Although they don&#8217;t say this sax is re-plated\u2014actually the store said it was original\u2014it certainly appears like it could be. For one thing, silver plated bass saxes usually had gold wash bells. This one doesn&#8217;t have a that feature. Another thing is that usually the Buescher logo, as well as the highlights, would be in&nbsp;shiny silver and should contrast sharply with the satin silver body.
