This interesting saxophone-shaped toy is in remarkable condition. It comes from what was the musical heartland of East Germany: Klingenthal. “Klingenthal is a town in the Vogtland region, in the Free State of Saxony, south-eastern Germany. It is situated directly on the border with the Czech Republic opposite the Czech town of Kraslice”.\u00b9<\/p>\n

Although at first blush it might be mistaken as a real blow accordion, the\u00a0Klingenthaler toy sax comes with its original box, which notes the manufacturer as VEB Aschberg Musikspielwaren Klingenthal<\/em>. Musikspielwaren<\/em> translates into music toys<\/em>.<\/p>\n

The seller noted that the toy saxophone\/blow accordion was 34 cm long. For all you non-metric thinkers out there, that’s just under 13\u00bd”.<\/p>\n

At this point I can’t even guesstimate this toy’s age. Regardless, this little toy is really in stunning condition, and appears to not have been used much, if at all.<\/p>\n

If you look at its keys, they are all present, and look to be made of plastic rather than metal. And the foil paper covering the body tube looks like it is virtually intact.<\/p>\n
