\nVintage American saxophones are legendary. King, Conn, Martin, and Buescher were the top 4 American saxophone manufacturers of yesteryear. Even today, fine playing horns made by these manufacturers are sought after, and some examples\u2014such as the King Super 20 Silver Sonic\u2014can demand top dollar.<\/p>\n

Because there has been much written about these and other brands already, I have no intention of reinventing the wheel. I therefore suggest that if you’re looking for information on specific brands, that you check out a reliable source of information, such as Saxpics<\/a>, The Martin Story<\/a>, and hnwhite.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Rather than rehashing information already on the web, on Bassic Sax I have instead chosen to focus on a photographic representation of great American horns of the past. Think of my site as a photo gallery of some of the best\u2014or in some cases interesting or unique\u2014American saxophones made.<\/p>\n

Over time as Pete’s and my Bassic Sax Pix gallery<\/a> grows, more American saxophone manufacturers will be added to this list.<\/p>\n

If you have a saxophone that you would like to contribute to the gallery, drop me an email,<\/a> and I will be happy to do it for you. If you own a sax from a manufacturer that I have so far not included in my gallery, no problem, I’ll be happy to add a new category.<\/p>\n
