Last night Deception played for the Envision Twilight Concert Series in Mission’s Fraser River Heritage Park. The turnout was huge, and the reception we received was great. Thank you to the people of Mission and surrounding areas who came out for the live event! We hope to see you again.
I’ve included a couple of shots here of the band on stage. Because of the screen limitations, I’ve put them up here in medium size. So If you want to see them larger, just click on them, and they will open up in this window. To get back to this text, just click the back button in your browser window.

Thanks also to the sound crew. I’ve never worked with these guys before, and didn’t even catch their names, but they were great! I’ve said it before, but at live events, a good sound crew is what makes the event. They allow the musicians to just perform, and not worry about anything. Without a doubt, the sound crew works just as hard, if not harder, than the musicians, and are just as important to what the audience hears. Thanks guys, whoever you are ❗

Marge got some really great shots of my Martin Handcraft tenor basking in the late-day sunshine on stage before the show started.

The PM was a really special one for me. My long-time friend, and former high school tenor sax partner, Tanya, and her daughter Tashia, came out to see the show. Shortly after I moved Fredericton in ’96, Tanya and her husband Mark moved to Africa. Tanya’s husband is a hydro-geologist, and worked for a company that helped cities develop new sources of safe drinking water.
Over the last 12 years we have managed to get together on average once a year despite the thousands of miles separating us. She is still one of my nearest and dearest friends. She is one of those rare people in your life that you can not see for a long time, but when you do, it’s like no time has passed at all.
This is the first time Tanya has heard me play horn in a band since high school. So what do ya think darlin’? Have I gotten any better?
