I happened to see a very lovely vintage Conn bass saxophone on eBay this morning. It obviously had been completely restored recently.

This is what the seller says about the sax:
I have for auction a beautiful Conn Stencil Bass Saxophone #10349. This bass sax is keyed from low Bb to high Eb. The stencil reads U.S.Q.M.C. and the horn dates from 1915-1920. When I purchased the sax two years ago, it had just had a complete mechanical restoration, including new silver plating. The pads are leather single rivet, and the horn has all new corks and felts. The horn comes with a vintage Buescher bass sax mouthpiece that plays beautifully from the bottom of the horn through the altissimo register. I am also including a new Glenn Cronkhite burgundy cordura gig bag, and a new SaxRax bass sax stand. For the benefit of the buyer, I am willing to meet anywhere in the Northern California area to deliver the sax, gig bag, and stand. If buyer decides to have the horn shipped, additional charges will be added to the purchase price to cover all costs for packaging, shipping, handling and insurance. This bass saxophone is set up and ready to play. With the exception of a few minor blemishes on the body tube, the horn is what I would consider to be in pristine condition. You would be hard pressed to find a bass saxophone that both looks and plays as well as this one. The auction begins at $6,500.
It’s too bad that the photos are so small. I wish sellers would put up larger pictures of these big ticket items that they are trying to sell.
In this particular case, some photos of the engraving, or stencilling, would be nice too!
