I was in my local Costco store a few weeks ago, and was doing my best to avoid the Christmas displays that are currently being crowded by the Halloween displays. I hate the fact that Christmas seems to have become almost a 4 month commercial season.
Now normally there’s no way that I would even mention Christmas on my blog on only the 3rd day of fall, but this European glass tree ornament is making me break my own rule.
I accidentally happened across this ornament while doing a search for vintage saxophones. It appears to be in good condition, and its overall appearance is quite interesting. It’s not the usual saxophone-shaped tree ornaments that pop up all the time.

The seller describes this ornament like this:
Vintage blown glass Christmas ornament, Saxophone
A blown glass Christmas tree ornament,
made in the last century,
Measures : approx.- 6 inches
Condition: used, look a the picture please

BTW, made in the last century? That might have been as recently as 11 years ago. 😉 I don’t know how vintage this piece really is, but it is certainly interesting.
The auction for the European glass Christmas tree ornament ends on October 2. At the time of writing there was 1 bid of $5.00 on it.
Update: This pretty saxophone-shaped glass Christmas ornament did sell. In the end there were 7 bids on the item, and the winner paid $26.77 for the privilege of being able to hang it on their tree this year.
