Now THIS Is A Saxophone Restoration

When I saw these photos on Flickr, I must say that I was really pleased. I have always loved this massive saxophone sculpture made of an old VW Beetle body and parts. It was sad to see that it had been vandalized as badly as it had.

After sitting empty for years, it appears that someone has finally bought the old BBQ restaurant/live music venue in Houston, Texas, and restored the 50 foot saxophone sculpture back to its former glory. Check out these shots by readontheroad.

This photo directly above, is in stark contrast to the one taken on January 29, 2008 by mrchriscornwell. What a difference. She’s a beauty now!

To really see what this poor thing looked like before its restoration, here is a page of photos from various photographers for you.

…this is just my blog. My “real” website is www.bassic-sax.info. If you’re looking for sax info, you should check it out too. There’s lots there!
