The Angel Wings Have Landed

Yesterday, 4 weeks to the day that they were shipped from Nauheim, Germany, the replacement angel wings and clothes guards for my Toneking alto and tenor saxophones arrived. Yeah!!

I can’t believe that a small package sent Air Mail from Germany, needs to take 4 weeks, but it is true. Interestingly enough, IIRC, when Andreas sent me the bass saxophone stand from Germany, in a box that was easily 10 times as large, it took about ½ the time. What’s up with that anyway?

In any event, I can now finally set up a time with my tech David, and get him to install the new angel wing on my tenor. At the same time I’ll leave my my alto with him for a full overhaul.

The lacquer colour is a very good match. It is not quite identical, since the lacquer on my horns has turned a bit more honey gold since 1957, but it takes a discerning eye to notice the difference.

…this is just my blog. My “real” website is www.bassic-sax.info. If you’re looking for sax info, you should check it out too. There’s lots there!
