And The Band Played On

A couple of weeks ago I noticed a rather odd photo in Flickr. Mike Shaheen Photography posted a collection of, shall we say, unusual, shots on the photo sharing site.

In this day and age of fear-based news casting, seeing a series of images of a gas mask-clad individual, is rather unnerving. It brings to mind thoughts of anthrax on commuter trains, or smallpox or botulism unleashed on unsuspecting subway riders.

Needless to say, the following image caught my eye. This is after all a saxophone blog.

I’m not sure what this guy is supposed to be doing. Perhaps he’s busking at the subway station during a bioterrorism scare. Maybe it’s like the band onboard the Titantic… And The Band Played On.

book cover, Titanic band,

…this is just my blog. My “real” website is www.bassic-sax.info. If you’re looking for sax info, you should check it out too. There’s lots there!
