This past summer I wrote a series of articles about the bass saxophone stand developed by Andreas Kaling, and his friend Ferdy Rose. Well since I first wrote my articles, Andreas has been busily at work on a number of projects.
His first project was to make some design changes to the stand which give it even greater strength and ease of use. The second project was to launch his new website on which he could now finally provide a live action demo of how the stand works.
Here is the video that Andreas created specifically to demonstrate his new bass saxophone stand.
You’ll notice that Andreas mentions a bass and bari stand. That’s because the portions of the stand that hold the horn are interchangeable, and baritone-sized pieces are also available through Andreas.
Andreas has been kind enough to provide information about the stand in both German and English. If you would like to read what he writes about his own stand, you can find it here. The English User Guide is found on the following page of his site.
Yes, Andreas has definitely been a busy guy over the past few months with his stand design, web site development, as well as his teaching and performance commitments. But you know what they say: If you want something done, just ask a busy person to do it. Andreas has certainly proven that he’s up to the challenge.
