The other night I had the opportunity to take some photos as friends of mine, who play in the Five Corners Horn Band, backed up another friend of mine at an outdoor dance in the resort town of Harrison Hot Springs.
The Five Corner Horn Band is an off-shoot of the Chilliwack Band that I sometimes play bass clarinet in. Five Corners is made up of long-time members who have fun normally playing stuff from books that I remember from years ago.
However, Gary decided to use the group as a horn line-up for his normally hornless Earthmen, and wrote horn lines for a bunch of classic R&B tunes.
What was great for me a couple of weeks ago was that I didn’t have to play, but rather that I got to spend the night listening to music, and taking some artsy photos of my friends.
Eventually the best of these will end up on the photo pages once I create some virtual frames for them, but in the meantime I hope you enjoy them the way they are. BTW, although I am not a Yamaha fan, by the sheer number of bari pics I shot, my predilections are most obvious. 😉
