The other day I came across something on eBay that really made me laugh. My first thought was that this poor thing looks like a cartoon sax, or perhaps like it walked out of a Salvador Dali painting.

However, the more I looked at this sadly misshapen hunk of silver, the more I thought that it could have been the star of a pharmaceutical commercial.
Sure, while it could have been cast to sell an anti-depressant, its true calling was most likely to sell that little blue pill that starts with the letter “V”, or perhaps another one that starts with the letter “C”… I’m afraid to write these pill names here, because I don’t want to be swarmed by spammers. :devil1:

Yes, this poor sax does indeed look like it’s suffering from some form of ED. And let’s face it, there’s nothing saxy about that. 😈
I don’t know who comes up with these designs. This thing kind of reminds me of that snow globe that was being sold in November. The saxophone contained in it looked like it had been run over by by a train, plane, or automobile.
While I realize designers might want to take artistic liberties with their creations, sometimes they should just sit back for a minute and have themselves a think. They should ask themselves: Who is their target market going to be? Are these people going to appreciate the artistic interpretation of the work?
In the case of both the snow globe and this pendant, the answers to these questions are most likely: Not so much. But heh, art is subjective, and I’m just telling you what my thoughts are on the subject. YMMV, and likely will. If it does, and you find yourself drawn to this Dali-like saxophone pendant, you can purchase 1 of the 4 this eBay store has in stock, for $29.99.
