Over the past few weeks, I’ve received a number of emails from 2 different people in Germany about my Hüttl saxophone. This is really exciting, because it looks like the mystery of this really obscure brand of saxophone has been solved.
I’m in the process of updating the Hüttl section of this site, which will include the information that I’ve received from both Dave and Uwe which indicates that my Hüttl is actually a stencil made by the Hammerschmidt family firm in Burgau Germany. Hammerschmidt sold their saxophones under the name Klingsor. When the updates to the Hüttl section of my site are done, I’ll have the history of the brand, as well of some photos of Dave’s newly restored tenor.
I’m also adding a few other new pages to my ever-larger-growing site. Stay tuned…
