As a young child there were certain play figures that I grew up with. The little blue, mushroom-dwelling Smurfs were wildly popular at the time. However, my personal favourites were Lurchi and his friends from Salamander shoes.
That said, the German invention Playmobil burst onto the European toy market in the 1970s. Then of course there are the Lego Minifigures that followed Playmobil by only a couple of years.
Why this trip down memory lane of toy land you ask? Well over the past few months I have noticed quite a few photos circulating around the ‘Net featuring a little sax player. This little sax player is a from the current crop of Lego Minifigures—Series 11.
This morning I happened to see a very creative photo on Flickr by Chris Christian, AKA wiredforlego. Christian has used the Lego Saxophone Player in combination with a piece of outdoor art/graffiti in Brooklyn, that I had featured on my blog in May 2012.

This man’s nickname tells you quite a bit about his subject matter. While true, he does have a penchant for photographing some quite interesting and intricate Lego installations, he also has some amazing graffiti photos.
Now you’ve done it, I want a Lego saxman. Btw, in the picture above, that how I *always* picture a sax lady. ;0)
Yeah, the little Lego sax player is a collectible that I was thinking of picking up for my studio as well. As far as the background painting goes, maybe you’d like to get someone to paint something like this in your studio Gandalfe. That would be fun. Get it done on a weekend while Suzy is away, or working night shift. :devil1:
