I was contacted this morning by a reader who recently purchased 2 new old stock Rico Metalite mouthpieces from 1988. Since the reintroduction of the Metalites last year, Rico no longer includes the facing information on the mouthpiece boxes. Furthermore, Rico has not reintroduced the alto Metalites at all.
Because I have written about the Metalite and Graftonite mouthpieces extensively, and have already included a facing chart for the Metalite baritone, this reader thought that I might like the information contained in the facing charts for the soprano and alto. This reader was right.
I have a great many people searching my website for information about Rico Metalite and Graftonite mouthpieces, and information about the Metalites is the more popular of the 2. The information contained in these 2 charts will be very popular I’m sure.
The information from the soprano box is as follows:

While the alto info looks like this:

Now the only facing information for the Metalite that is missing from my blog is that for the tenor mouthpieces. I have a Metalite tenor piece that was new old stock when I bought it a few years ago. I’m sure I have the box in my storage bin, because I keep all my mouthpiece boxes.
I’ll dig the box out later today—my geriatric dog is sleeping in front of the closet door at the moment, and I don’t have the heart to wake him up—and take a photo of it. Then I’ll compile a proper chart of the old stock Metalite mouthpieces with all the facings for soprano through baritone.
