I am not sure when I originally saw this Picasso-inspired, glass sax sculpture on etsy, but it was a little while ago. What caught my attention was its combination of two of my favourite things: glass and saxophones.
Besides having 25+/- vintage saxophones—most of which are fully restored, and/or in original, nearly mint condition— I do have a fairly nice collection of vintage Italian and Canadian art glass pieces. This is some of them in a display cabinet I had purpose-built about 8 years ago.
Therefore, when I saw this glass saxophone sculpture by Italian glass master, Alessandro Padoan, I was immediately drawn to its beauty, style, and the artist’s use of colours.
I also appreciated the in your face depiction of a cigarette that by today’s standards, here in North America at least, requires a PG13 warning. 😉 😆
The sculpture is described as follows on etsy:

Remember the Bassic Sax Illustrated Kitsch Scale? Well this Picasso-inspired, glass sax sculpture from Italian glass master, Alessandro Padoan, most definitely fits into the High Art category.
Will this art piece find a home with you? I certainly hope so. If I didn’t already have so much stuff, and not enough space to properly display it, I would pick it up faster than you can say: Saxophone fine art collectible anyone?
