Alfredo Santoni, Fabio Somaini and Luigi Bulgheroni were the principals in
the Ditta Giglio (“Lily Company”) in the city of Parè, in the province of
Como, in the Lombardy region of Italy.
Most of the available information out there about Santoni and
Ditta Giglio is on
my blog. If you have any additional information you'd like to share,
please drop me a line at thesaxinfo@gmail.com.
I'm going to categorize these horns after the saxophones they look like:
"DA" and "SDA," for the Buffet Dynaction and SuperDynaction (respectively)
and R. Malerne instruments. The only name I've found that could be
considered a model name is "Mogar."
