In 2017 I received an email from a fellow in Oslo, Norway. Petter used to own a music store, and had been a VMI/B&S dealer. While sorting through his attic he happened across a couple of things he thought might be of interest to me.
This B&S Medusa saxophone dealer prospectus was what we, as a potential buyers, could look at at a dealer’s shop, to see what the various Series 2006 options were. This way, if a dealer didn’t have what we were specifically looking for, it could be ordered directly from VMI for us.
For you European saxophone lovers out there, who, like me, were saddened by the demise of yet another fine, European saxophone manufacturer, I hope you enjoy this trip down memory lane. If you own one of these fine saxes already—or are just doing research on a used horn you are considering—this dealer prospectus fills an hole in the previously-available research.
Regardless of what brings you to looking at this interesting bit of B&S saxophone history, we all owe our sax-friendly, colleague in Oslo a serious thank you for generously sending this to me. The fact that I got it, meant that it could be shared with the sax-playing world.
Thank you Petter! Your generosity is greatly appreciated.
