8 Key Wooden Blow Accordion

8 Key Wooden Blow Accordion, vintage, Czechoslovakian, saxophone-shaped

Source: eBay.com

Like the little 4 key blow accordion on the previous page, this 8 key version comes from Czechoslovakia. According to the seller however, this 8 wooden blow key accordion is nearly double the length of its 4 key cousin. This 8 key horn is 16″ long with a 3 1/8″ diameter bell.

I don’t know if this 8 key wooden blow accordion was ever intended as a real musical instrument, but it is certainly an interesting saxophone collectible.

Although the 4 and 8 key wooden blow accordions differ somewhat in their finer details, they have the same brass wind-type mouthpiece. It is possible that these blow accordions were made by same company, but there was a lot of copying of not only real instruments, but also toy instruments like whistles and kazoos, back in the early part of the 20th century.
